Statement of Faith
These are the foundational beliefs that shape who we are and how we live as a community rooted in the Word of God.
1. The Scriptures
We believe the Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is without error in the original manuscripts and serves as the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21)
2. The Godhead (The Trinity)
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and co-eternal, having the same nature and attributes, and are worthy of the same worship, confidence, and obedience. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
3. Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and died on the cross as a substitute for our sins. We believe in His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory. (John 1:1, 14; Luke 1:35; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4)
4. The Holy Spirit
We believe in the present and active ministry of the Holy Spirit.
- Indwelling: We believe the Holy Spirit regenerates the sinner upon belief in Christ and indwells the believer to empower them for a godly life. (Titus 3:5; Romans 8:9–11)
- Baptism in the Holy Spirit: We believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, which may occur at or subsequent to salvation, empowering believers for witness and service. (Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4)
- Gifts of the Spirit: We believe that the gifts of the Spirit, as listed in 1 Corinthians 12–14, are available to the church today and should be operated in an orderly and biblical manner for the edification of the body.
5. Salvation
We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin, bringing separation from God. Salvation is a free gift of God, available to all who repent of their sins and place their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, and not by human works. (Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9–10)
6. The Church
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, composed of all born-again believers. We believe in the local church as a gathered community of believers who worship God, receive instruction from His Word, practice the ordinances, and carry out the Great Commission. (Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 1:22–23)
7. The Five-Fold Ministry
We believe that the ministry gifts of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher are given by Christ to the Church and are essential for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry and for the edifying of the Body of Christ. We believe these offices continue to function today to bring the Church to maturity and unity in the faith. (Ephesians 4:11–13)
8. Women in Ministry
We believe that the Holy Spirit empowers all believers, regardless of gender, for service and leadership in the Kingdom of God. We affirm that women are called to preach, teach, and hold leadership offices within the Church, as demonstrated throughout Scripture. (Galatians 3:28; Acts 2:17–18; Romans 16:1–7)
9. The Ordinances
- Water Baptism: We believe in baptism by immersion in water for the believer, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, as a public declaration of faith. (Matthew 28:19)
- Holy Communion: We believe in the regular observance of the Lord’s Supper to remember His death until He comes. (1 Corinthians 11:23–26)
10. Divine Healing & Restoration
We believe that Christ’s work on the cross provides for the healing of the human body and the restoration of the broken soul in answer to believing prayer. (Isaiah 53:4–5; James 5:14–15)
11. The Blessed Hope
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: the saved to the resurrection of eternal life in the presence of God, and the lost to the resurrection of damnation and eternal separation from God. We believe in the imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 20:11–15)
12. Marriage and Sexuality
We believe that God has ordained marriage as the exclusive covenantal union of one man and one woman. We believe that legitimate sexual relations are exercised solely within marriage. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4–6; Hebrews 13:4)
